New Year, New Me (and a New Watch)

2017 is here, believe it or not. I recently posted a vlog about what my New Year's resolutions are (you can watch it here) but there were a few things that I didn't mention in my video because they are a little more personal and how to word them takes a lot of thought.

One of the big things I want to focus on this year is unplugging. I unplugged for one weekend in December while on a mission trip and it was the most freeing experience. I was doing good for myself and for the people I was with.

How can you unplug if you are a lifestyle blogger? I've thought about this a lot. I want to create an online schedule for myself and dedicate time to not being on the computer or my phone or my smart watch.

I'll be honest, I love my smart watch. Last year, I thought it was the coolest thing ever, but looking back at it, I became addicted to knowing what was going on in my little digital world. I thought it would allow me to live off my phone, but it did the opposite. I was caught in a cycle of checking my watch and then checking my phone and on and on.

When Jord approached me at the end of the year and offered me a free watch in return for a review, I knew this could be good. I've been meaning to invest in a new watch, and Jord did all the work for me. They have an amazing selection of unique watches that I don't think this will be my only one.

The watch that I picked out for myself was the Fieldcrest Zebrawood and Maple. The "wood on wood" effect was definitely unique and fit right in with my wardrobe.

They have a great selection of men's watches and women's watches, for sure. Little does Taylor know that I have the perfect watch picked out for him already. Want to know what I picked? Stay tuned.

I'm hosting a giveaway with Jord to give one of my readers their own Wooden Wristwatch, be sure to check it out.
Everyone who enters will get a $25 e-gift code and the winner (chosen by Jord) will get a $100 e-gift code. (This giveaway ends on January 22 and codes expire on April 31.)

Also, I'd like to give a shoutout to Taylor (and to my new iPhone7+) for the awesome photos in this blog post.

So readers, I hope that you go into 2017 with an open mind and find the peace that you need. Maybe unplugging is good for you too.
