#ReverseYourRoutine by TRESemmé

Would you believe me if I told you that you were probably showering the wrong way? Is there a really a right way to shower? I didn't believe it either. Whether you shower every day or not, TRESemmé's new products, the Beauty Full Volume collection, are going to have you rethinking how you wash your hair.

I'm going to be honest, I have been using this method of showering way before I heard about TRESemmé's products. I truly believe that this method works, is great for your hair, and makes it look better. When I received a notification that I would get to sample this new product, I was a little skeptical, because anyone could use conditioner first, what makes this product so special?

TRESemmé conditioner and shampoo combination will not only soften and clean your hair, they give it a little bit of volume, even before you exit your shower. I don't know if I can go back to the mismatched products I was using before (I used to buy whatever what was on sale, but trying these is making me realize that I need to take better care of my hair.)

So this is how you do it:

Step 1: Condition. Conditioner moisturizes and protects the hair, making it soft and shinier, so why wouldn't you want to do this first? Depending on how much hair you have, the suggested 2-3 pumps might not be enough. (I got a haircut a week into testing this product, completely unrelated, I swear.) Focus on conditioning the ends, because no one likes split ends and these really need to be protected. Leave the conditioner in for about a minute (enough time to shave your armpits), and then lightly, yet thoroughly, rinse it out.

Step 2: Shampoo. Lather up your hair, at the roots. Remember to be gentle, because your hair is very delicate. I do not suggest the "rinse and repeat" method. Washing your hair once will clean it just fine, washing it twice will strip the hair, which could damage it.

Personal suggestion: Before you get out of the shower, turn the water on really really cold. Rinse your hair one final time in cold water. This closes up the hair follicles on your head, preventing any dirt from getting in right away. I make sure to do this if I plan on putting product in my hair to style.

Step 3: Style. The Beauty Full collection is all about volume, so why not work it? You can use the maximizer, the mousse and the hairspray to get that styled look you are going for. Before I cut my hair (completely unrelated to testing this product), I normally didn't style. But now that it's a little shorter, I make sure to play up the "volume" that TRESemmé preaches about. I put some mousse in my hair, let it dry a little, blow dry the rest, and style.

Voila! I really like having volume to my hair because naturally it's a little flat. Since I started using this system with the TRESemmé products, my hair has felt less oily, and a lot lighter (and not just because I cut off a couple inches.)

If you're interested in trying out this system, you can buy these products on Amazon: the conditionerthe shampoothe mousse, the maximizer and the hairspray. (These are all affiliate links, it does not hurt to click these links.) You can also get them at a local drug store.

Note: I received the shampoo and conditioner for free for testing purposes, thanks Influenster (referral link). I purchased the mousse on my own.

  1. This is something that I'll definitely be trying!

  2. Great routine! I seen this on tv and i was thinking of getting it for my daughter

  3. So interesting! I never thought about conditioning before shampooing.

  4. Fellow engineer here! I've been wanting to switch my shampoo and conditioner lately. I'll have to try TRESemmé next, along with conditioning before shampoo.
