Simple Ways to Earn Free Money and Product

Did I get your attention with the word FREE? Or was it the picture of money? Well good, I'm glad I got your attention. I know a few people have asked me to write a post about "easy" ways to make money.

Although these websites do not put instant cash in your wallet, they have proven to be legitimate, and having a couple dollars show up in your bank account is never a bad thing. Some of the websites I will suggest don't give out money at all but will provide samples in return for a public review. Either way, free is free, so don't hesitate to try!

American Consumer Opinion is a survey website. About once a week, they will send an email with a "screener" survey. You typically have 3 days to complete the screener to qualify for the actual survey. If you don't qualify, you'll get roughly 10-15 points (maybe more). If you complete the survey (which follows the screener), you'll receive a larger amount (100+ points). The survey topics range from products to advertising methods to opinions. Each point is equal to 1¢.

My total cashed out to date: $14.70 (via Paypal, takes a few weeks.)

My opinion: I went through a phase last winter where I signed up for a bunch of survey sites to make spare change and this one is one of the more legitimate websites. They don't spam you every day like some, and your rewards are actual money, not chances to enter sweepstakes. The surveys do take a little bit of time, but it's worth it. I cashed out my first payment in March and didn't see it in my account (they say it takes 6-8 weeks), so I emailed customer service, and they were so friendly and fixed the problem. Definitely recommend for some extra money.

Surveys on the Go is a survey app (download Apple/Android). Turn your location on for this app and it will give you surveys regarding stores you may be walking into or out of or movies that are currently in theaters. They also release random surveys from time to time. If you don't qualify for the survey, they'll give you 10¢, which adds up quickly. Completed survey are worth more, obviously.

My total cashed out to date: $37.05 (via Paypal, takes a couple days.)

My opinion: I downloaded this app while I was in college, so don't get your hopes up by the amount of money that I cashed out. I enjoy this app a lot, as it send me notifications to my phone when I have a survey offer. What's even cooler is sometimes they will give you a survey for seeing a movie during opening weekend and pay you $10, which covers the cost of a ticket!

Crowd Tap is something I found recently. There is a website and a phone app (Apple) where they ask you polls and questionnaires about name brands (think Advil, Folgers, Jif, Red Lobster, and more). They also give you points for commenting and sharing posts and posting on social media. Occasionally, they send samples for you to post about to earn more points. Every time you reach a new "level" in their point system, you get a $5 Amazon gift card. You need to connect Facebook and have your posts public (to friends) to receive rewards.

My total rewards earned to date: $15 Amazon credit

My opinion: Crowdtap was a little confusing at first because I couldn't get it to sync with my Facebook (apparently I had an old account which I closed down, which you aren't supposed to do) but now I'm up and running. I like Crowdtap so far, as I could always benefit from Amazon gift cards, no matter the value. Leveling up is becoming harder though. And I feel like I'm annoying my followers, but who cares?

Influenster (referral link) is another thing I found recently. On Influenster, you review products that you use yourself. There is a website and a phone app (Apple/Android). The phone app allows you to scan item bar codes as you use them (great for food product reviews). The more items that you review, the more badges you earn. Occasionally, you'll take a survey to qualify for a "VoxBox" filled with products to review.

Note: The link to the website (above) is a referral link, I get points on my account if you sign up using that link.

My opinion: I think I'm still new to Influenster, so I haven't gotten enough good karma yet. I do have a high following on multiple social media platforms, which they take into account when they give you chances to qualify for product. Currently, I'm waiting for my first VoxBox (yes, I got an email saying it's coming.) Can't wait to review what I get!

Ebates (referral link) is a cashback program, which means for every purchase you make at a qualifying online store, you will get a percentage of your money back. Usually it's only 1-2% but for some travel sites, it can be up to 10%. They even have random days where they increase the percent back for just that day.

Note: The link to the website (above) is a referral link, you'll get $10 to start if you sign up using that link.

My total cashed out to date: $12.90 (quarterly via Paypal, but there are more options for getting your "big fat check")

My opinion: I wish I had found this sooner. I have a button on my web browser that shows me when I can get cash back (and how much) from a website. I started using Ebates in early-2016, so I missed the holiday shopping, but I cannot wait to get my presents for this year.

My questions for you, the reader: How do you make money, without working 40 hours a week? I'm always looking for more websites or apps to test, so let me know what works for you!

I'm currently looking into testing out: Opinion Outpost (referral link), Inbox Dollars (referral link)

  1. Just downloaded Survey on the go, can't wait to get started with it! Also for influenster I've found that you are more likely to get a certain voxbox if you earn a lot of points in a particular badge and then also review a few products and answer product questions for those in that same category! I've recieved 2 voxboxes in about 6 months or less from doing this! Also another survey website that's pretty good and sounds similar to the firs site you mentioned is Opinion Outpost! The surveys are long, but again, worth it! I believe you need 100 points and that's equal to $10!

    1. I've been looking into Opinion Outpost, but for some reason I haven't been qualifying for the surveys.

And thanks for the tip about Influenster! I'll definitely keep that in mind.
