My Go-To Green Smoothie Recipe

Greens are gross, right? No. Honestly, if you would have asked me if I liked spinach a year ago, I probably would have said no. The most greens I had until I graduated college were the salads that I ate at Panera Bread. Never had the desire to eat anything that resembled kale or spinach.... gross.

But here I am...writing a blog post because I just have to share this recipe that just happens to include spinach. Don't lie...that shade of green is beautiful.

So what is this awesomeness?

8 oz almond milk, vanilla, sweetened
5 ice cubes
1 scoop protein powder, vanilla (I use Shakeology for now.)
2 cups baby spinach
1/2 frozen banana
1 tbsp peanut butter

I'm sure there are other ingredients that you could substitute into this recipe, but this was just what I found in my pantry and fridge.

I made this for the first time a couple weeks ago and absolutely loved it. You can't even taste the spinach. (Boyfriend verified.)

If you are the type of person that really wants to see the details of this smoothie, here are the nutrients, as calculated by MyFitnessPal.

Pretty nutritious breakfast right here. I never thought I would be saying that about spinach. I also never thought I would be eating spinach for breakfast.

Do you have a favorite healthy smoothie? Feel free to leave the recipe in the comments, I'd love to try it!
