One Month Down

Seriously though, time has been flying. We are already a whole month into 2018 and I feel like I've been super productive but also haven't done anything. In an effort to post more about my life on my blog (hence "lifestyle"), I plan to post at least monthly about what is going on in my life, my likes and dislikes, the good and the bad.

Did you do anything fun in January?

  • I rang in the new year with my one of my best blogger friends, Amanda from Blissful Gal. Honestly, so thankful she came to visit because, otherwise, I probably wouldn't have gone out.
  • My mom visited me in Columbus. I've lived here for over a year and this is the first time she's seen my apartment, except for in my YouTube video.
  • I drove to Lynchburg, VA with my mom to surprise my baby sister in one of her last college swim meets. Yes, she was surprised.
  • I took my best friend Kaytee to Disney on Ice as her Christmas present. Imagine: two twenty-something girls wishing they could just quit life and be princesses. That was us.
  • Got my monthly massage, went to hot yoga, and saw three movies in theaters, thanks to MoviePass.

Anything not so fun?

Thinking back on this past month, there weren't any points where I was feeling super down on myself, so I'll call this a win in my book.

What is this MoviePass?

Shoutout to my friend Justin for introducing me to MoviePass. For $10/month, you can see one movie a day, every day (if you so chose). Pretty much all of the movie theaters in my area participate, so it's totally worth it. I can even go to the fancy theater with the reclining chairs.

In January, I took myself to see:

  • Pitch Perfect 3
  • The Post
  • The Maze Runner: The Death Cure
I have a referral link, here, but sadly they don't offer any awesome promos for signing up, and I don't get anything in return.

Any new dating stories?

I told myself that I would be picky with who I invest in this year and I'm keeping that promise to myself. Yes, I still have a Tinder and a Bumble. I've been on a couple good dates and a couple bad, but at the end of the day, all of the guys I've been out with have been gentlemen, even if it didn't work out for some reason.

At this point in time, I don't have any new stories worth telling, sorry to disappoint.

Have you been working out?

I wish I could tell you that I was. This month I signed up for a DietBet with some girls who follow The Skinny Confidential like I do. All I had to lose was 7 pounds and I couldn't even do that. So yeah, I'm out $15 from that.

Impulse purchases?

I was pretty good this month in regards to frivolous spending. I did, however, treat myself to a desk for my "office" and some Apple Airpods, both purchases I do not regret one bit.

What are my current challenges for the next month?

I have deemed February as my challenge month.

  • First challenge, start working out. I don't care if I lose weight or not, I just really need to get back into shape. My goal is to run/walk 10 miles a week. Hopefully the weather goes back to being nice so that I don't have to limit myself to a treadmill.
  • Second challenge, upload at lease one vlog. I have some ideas, thanks to everyone's input on Instagram, I just need to actually commit to filming and editing.
  • Lastly, Lent starts in February (February 14th, to be exact). This year, I'm going to try a 40-day no-spend, which sadly means no frivolous shopping sprees. Nothing except the necessities to live (AKA food etc).  I'm also going to attempt Whole30 again... but we know how it will probably end

Also, quick shoutout to my girl Caitlyn from College with Caitlyn for taking these stunning pictures of my awkwardness back in December. She's currently studying abroad and I miss her dearly.

Thank you all so much for reading my little check-in post. I'd love to/plan to post more of these. If you have any specific questions, feel free to comment them below, use the contact box, or reach out to me on social media. Otherwise, it'll just be me making up questions to ask myself again next month. Hah.
